National Water Sports Centre (National Water Sports Centre, Patterson River)

The National Water Sports Centre is located approximately 34 kilometres south east of Melbourne along Patterson River in Bangholme. The 2000 metre rowing course can be used for a range of water-based activities, such as rowing, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, coarse angling, jet skiing, radio controlled yachting, boat shows, boat testing, and special training sessions. The Dandenong Creek Valley Bike Trail passes through the National Water Sports Centre and provides an excellent opportunity to view the centre and its surrounds.
The centre is open to the public for boat testing and waterskiing during the following times:
Tuesday from 11.00am - 3.00pm
Friday from 9.00am – 4.00pm

Public users can now book and pay for boat testing and water-skiing use of the National Water Sports Centre using the online Park Stay system during public access times on Tuesdays and Fridays. Upon payment, you will be emailed a 4-digit code which will provide vehicle access. Bookings open each Monday morning and are only possible for that week

All boat operators are advised to navigate with caution, as conditions can change quickly and sand can accumulate across the entrance and cause reduced depth within the channel.

The information provided is intended as a guide only and does not replace the judgement of the operator of the vessel.  Boat operators should be familiar with Notices to Mariners published on the Ports Vic website and are advised to check weather and tidal conditions prior to accessing the entrance.  

Depth shown is to Chart Datum.
 
This survey will be replaced when a new one becomes available, usually within two months.
