The small town of Newhaven is located on Phillip Island near San Remo and Cape Woolamai. Visitors can go fishing off the Newhaven Jetty which offers excellent fishing opportunities, take a stroll along Newhaven's waterfront and absorb the atmosphere of this picturesque seaside village.

Jumping and diving off the jetty and other structures is prohibited for public safety. There are shallow areas and often unexpected submerged objects
Ensure dogs are kept on lead at all times and clean up after your dog.

Newhaven Jetty closure

Engineering assessments have revealed structural failures meaning it poses a significant hazard to visitors. Accordingly, the Jetty has been closed to ensure public safety.
 
We understand that Newhaven Jetty plays an important role in the local community for recreation, including fishing and walking.
 
The jetty will continue to be prioritised under the Sustainable Local Ports Framework for future investment.

Parks Victoria apologises for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the jetty.

Nearby pier-based fishing access is available at San Remo Pier and Rhyll Jetty.
