Change of Conditions

Nature being nature, sometimes conditions can change at short notice. It’s a good idea to check this page ahead of your visit for any updates.

Lower Loop Picnic Area - Toilets and barbecues out of order

The Lower Loop Picnic Area barbecues are out of order and the adjacent toilet block at Corben Oval is closed. This is due to an electrical supply problem that is expected to be reconnected by mid 2024.

The nearest toilets and barbecues are opposite at the Studley Park Picnic Area, accessed by foot across Kanes Bridge. There are other facilities at Westfield Picnic Area to the north on Yarra Bend Rd.

Parks Victoria apologises for any inconvenience.

Dickinson Reserve Playground Closed

The playground at Dickinson Reserve is closed due to safety concerns. The basket swing is still open for use.

The nearest playground with climbing structures, slides and swings is at Andrews Reserve, accessed from the Yarra Boulevard. Andrews Reserve is approximately 1 km from Dickinson Reserve.

Parks Victoria apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Kane's Bridge Closure

Kane's Bridge will be closed for repair works on Monday 18th December.

Access changes during Urban Parks Active Wellbeing upgrades

We are completing works to upgrade facilities as part of the Urban Parks Active Wellbeing Program.

At Studley Park Picnic Area the existing toilet block will be replaced, with temporary toilets available during this time. New electric barbecues and shelters will also be built.

The Lower Loop Picnic Area will receive a new playground, a new path to provide better access, new park furniture and new electric barbecues that will be able to be used once electricity has been restored.

During this time access to the above facilities will be limited or closed.

Works are expected to be completed in late 2023, subject to on-ground and environmental conditions.

For more information about these upgrades, please visit the Parks Victoria project page, or contact the Parks Victoria team on 13 19 63.
