Red Gum Car Park (Plenty Gorge) (Plenty Gorge Parklands)

Red Gum Car Park is located in Plenty Gorge Parklands, South Morang, and is accessed from Gordons Rd, off Plenty Rd. The sealed car park provides parking for approximately 35 cars and is the starting point for walking tracks that lead to park features, including the Morang Wetlands and Hawkstowe Picnic Area.
The walk to the wetlands is approx. 2km. The wetlands are the perfect location for birdwatching, as seasonal migratory birds and local species gather there. Kangaroos will likely be spotted along the trail. Dogs must be kept on lead on the trail and are not allowed in the Morang Wetlands.
Picnic facilities are available at Hawkstowe Picnic Area, including bbqs, picnic tables and benches, and toilet facilities. The historic Le Page Homestead and outbuildings are located within Hawkstowe Picnic Area and reflect farming life from earlier times.
Solid fuel bbqs are permitted.
Rubbish bins are not provided, so please take all rubbish home.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on-lead.
Plenty Gorge Park is in the Central fire district. Bush and grass fire safety is a personal responsibility. For up to date information on fires in Victoria call the VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226, download the VicEmergency app, or visit www.emergency.vic.gov.au.
