Spring Creek Picnic Area (Warby-Ovens National Park)

Enjoy a picnic or barbecue at Spring Creek. Picnic tables and fireplaces are provided.

Fires are permitted in the fireplaces provided, if: it is not a day of Total Fire Ban, a 3-metre area around it is cleared of anything flammable, an adult is in attendance at all times and at least 10 litres of water are available for immediate use. Put the fire out with water, not soil. When the campfire is cool to touch, it is safe to leave.

Woody debris on the ground provides important habitat for small animals. Help us protect the park’s wildlife by bringing firewood with you. Please take your rubbish home for recycling or disposal.

Walking track closure - Sunrise Walk

Sunrise Walk within the Warby-Ovens National Park will be closed until further notice from Friday 6 September 2024, due to hazardous trees and track conditions from recent storm damage. Once Parks Victoria staff have completed a thorough inspection and the hazardous trees and track conditions have been controlled, Sunrise Walk will be reopened.

The following tracks will be closed as part of this temporary closure:

Colsons Track; Sunrise Track; and Bracken Link Track

Due to recent heavy rainfalls and Ovens River levels rapidly rising a partial closure is in place for the Warby Ovens NP

Due to heavy rainfalls in the catchment and the Ovens River levels rising rapidly, the following tracks are temporarily closed within the Warby-Ovens National Park:
Hills Track, Wilsons Track, Boundary Track, Frosts Crossing Track, Ovens Track, Nicklaus Track, Yellow Creek Track.
Alternative Ovens River campsites can be found nearby at Goldings Bend, Peechelba and McLaughlins Bend. Tracks remain wet in areas and water may be present over roads. It is recommended not to drive through floodwaters.  Please drive with caution.
