The Farmyard Camping Area (Cathedral Range State Park)

Nestled between the peaks of North and South Jawbone, the Farmyard is a beautiful hike-in camping spot for walkers wishing to camp overnight on Cathedral Range. No fees or bookings are required. There are no toilets or other facilities. Fires are not permitted – please bring a portable gas stove or similar for cooking. No drinking water is available – please bring all the water you need with you.

Visitor Tips: Don’t forget to notify your loved ones of your trip intentions when undertaking overnight hikes. Phone signals are unreliable: hikers should consider carrying a radio or personal locator beacon. Reconsider spending the night here on days of higher fire danger or when storms or high winds are forecast.

Cathedral Range State Park is in the Central fire district. Bushfire safety is a personal responsibility. Anyone entering the park during the bushfire season needs to stay aware of forecast weather conditions. Check the Fire Danger Rating and for days of Total Fire Ban at emergency.vic.gov.au www.emergency.vic.gov.au, on the Vic Emergency App or call the Vic Emergency Hotline 1800 226 226.

On Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating days this park will be closed for public safety. Do not enter the Park. If you are already in the Park, leave the night before or as early as possible in the morning. No fires may be lit on Total Fire Ban days.
