Wallace Hut

Built in 1889 Wallace Hut remains the oldest surviving hut in the Victorian Alps. Nestled amongst gnarled Snow Gums the hut sits on a flat grassy plain and is just a short walk (700m) along a gradually sloping gravel trail from a carpark on the Great Alpine Road. At the carpark a large information shelter provides interesting facts about the site and the Bogong High Plains. A toilet and picnic tables are located near the hut.
