Hepburn Healthy Trails

Project status

This project is now completed.

The project

This project was delivered on Dja Dja Wurrung country by DJANDAK (a DJAARA enterprise).

The project aimed to upgrade trails, enhance accessibility, and foster a seamless connection between Dja Dja Wurrung culture and health and wellbeing experiences in the park.

The Argyle Spring Walk was identified as a priority for upgrade. The works included resurfacing, replanting, and weed control. Pause points were created along the walk to allow visitors to stop, appreciate nature, and reflect on the cultural significance of the park. These pause points feature interpretive signage, furniture, and sculptures designed by Djaara artists, enhancing opportunities for people to connect with both culture and nature.

Track enhancement works were also delivered to improve a range of other tracks across the park.

This project supports the delivery of the Joint Management Plan for Dja Dja Wurrung Parks, which sets out strategic management directions and was developed after thorough community and stakeholder input.
