  • Alpine National Park

    Change of Condition Alpine NP – Road & Track Closures:

    Dargo High Plains Road, Blue Rag Range Track, Basalt North Track, Twins Track, Twins Jeep Track, Mount Murray Track North and Gunns Track.
     
    Due to current weather conditions at alpine elevations and in the interest of public safety Victoria Police, Department of Energy Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and Parks Victoria will be closing the above-mentioned high elevation alpine roads and tracks in State Forest and the Alpine NP. These tracks will now remain closed until seasonal closure openings on the 29th of October 2026.
     

  • Arcadia Streamside Reserve

    Temporary Track Closures due to Inundation, Arcadia Streamside Reserve - 11/08/2026

    Due to localised Flooding anticipated to rise quickly on the Goulburn River and tributaries, all vehicle tracks are temporarily closed within Arcadia Streamside Reserve.
      
    Take care and monitor the situation
    • Additional areas may be closed or become inaccessible at any time.
    • We encourage community members to take extra care around rivers, creeks and lakes as water levels may rise quickly and without warning. We encourage those travelling to new or unfamiliar areas to exercise additional caution.
    • If camping, never camp under trees or branches and avoid camping on low-lying land near creeks, rivers, streams and other waterways.
    • If conditions outside appear dangerous over the coming days, please stay inside. If you are driving and conditions deteriorate, safely pull over away from drains, trees, low-lying areas and floodwater.

  • Barmah National Park

    Closed areas Barmah national park

    Areas of Barmah National Park, Proposed Murray River Park and Tocumwal Regional Park have been closed for public safety and to avoid damage.
     Most tracks and visitor sites within these Parks have become inaccessible to motorised vehicles due to localised rain and flooding. 
     The current closure effects all visitor sites and tracks displayed on the attached map with exception of those highlighted in Green and listed below which can be accessed by 4X4 vehicles, as some water crossings may be required:

  • Beechworth Historic Park

    Spring Creek Bridge Closed

    Spring Creek Bridge is closed to all vehicles and pedestrians due to significant damage from storm and flood events.

    Pedestrian and bicycle access is permitted to either side of the bridge via Gorge Road, however there is currently no through access.

  • Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park

    Loop track closed due to Phytophthora outbreak

    Loop access will have limited vehicle access to reduced the risk of spread of phytophthora cinnamomi pathogen. 

  • Cathedral Range State Park

    Roadworks and Partial Road Closure - Cerberus Rd

    Roadworks are being conducted on Cerberus Road between Sugarloaf Saddle Carpark and Mount Margaret Road during daylight hours Monday to Friday through August, no vehicle access is permitted during this period. 

    Access to Sugarloaf Saddle is via Little River Road and the Northern end of Cerberus Rd.

  • Cobram Regional Park

    Areas closed due to inundation - Yarrawonga through to Cobram (Yarrawonga Regional Park, River Murray Reserve)

    Areas temporarily closed due to inundation

    Due to recent high rainfall, gullies and tracks into beaches and camping areas between Yarrawonga and Cobram have been inundated. Over the coming days, releases through Yarrawonga Weir will increase as water moves down from the catchments. The following areas between Yarrawonga and Cobram are temporarily closed:
    ·      Yarrawonga Common
    ·      Chinaman’s Bend
    ·      Forges Beach 1 & 2
    ·      Bruces Beach 1 & 2
    ·      Zinettis 1 & 2
    ·      Nevins Beach
    ·      Duffys Beach
    ·      Bourkes Beach 1, 2 & 3
    ·      Cobrawonga Island
    ·      Scott’s Beach

    Floodwater is impacting access tracks, making them impassable to all vehicle types.
    Stay informed – monitor your local conditions and remain alert.
    ·      Parks Victoria has closed some park access gates due to rising river levels. These closures are in place for your safety.
    ·      Do not drive through floodwater or around road closure signs.
    ·      Avoid walking through flooded areas.
    ·      Boating in floodwaters is dangerous due to debris, submerged trees and other hidden dangers.

  • Gunbower National Park

    Murray River Adventure Trail

    Stage One of the Murray River Adventure Trail proposes new canoe and kayak launches, pedestrian links and new facilities at key visitor sites from Barmah National Park to Koondrook. Stage One will pass through Echuca, Murray River Reserve, Gunbower National Park and Lower Goulburn National Park. Find out more about the project.

  • Howqua Hills Historic Area

    Howqua Hills Historic Area Toilet Upgrades

    Parks Victoria is demolishing and replacing four old toilet blocks in Howqua Hills Historic Area to improve the visitor facilities, accessibility and to bring the toilets into compliance with EPA requirements; 2 toilet blocks at Sheepyard Flat (North & South) and 2 toilet blocks at Fry’s Flat (North & South).

    Works are expected to take place between 10th of August - late September 2026, subject to weather conditions as well as material and contractor availability.  

    Each campground will be closed during works to ensure public safety during construction. The toilet installations will be completed in a staggered approach;

    Toilet blocks to be replaced in order of priority; 
    1. Sheepyard Flat North & Sheepyard Flat South  (Campground closed between 11-22 August 2026)
    2. Fry’s Flat South & Fry’s Flat North (Campground closed from 24th August 2026 onwards until completion during the seasonal road closure)

    Masons Falls BBQs are closed, the nearest BBQs are Jehosaphat Gully or Toorourrong Reservoir Park

    The Gums campground communal BBQ is closed. Nearest alternative BBQ is Jehosaphat Gully.

    Frank Thomson BBQs closed

    BBQs at Frank Thomson Reserve are currently out of order, instead please use Jehosaphat Gully BBQs.

  • Koorangie Wildlife Reserve (hunting)

    Track closure in Koorangie WR

    The track on the east side of Little Marsh and First Marsh in Koorangie WR has been closed due to a sinkhole forming on the track. There is no access to Little Marsh from Lake Charm Quambatook Rd. Access into the northern end of First Marsh can be made from Dwyer Rd. 

  • Lake Eildon National Park

    Gap Track - Closed between Pinnacle Track and O’Toole Creek

    What?
    Gap Track, between Pinnacle Track and O’Toole Creek, is closed.
    • There is no vehicle access to Gap Track directly from Eildon Jaimeson Road. By vehicle, Gap Track must be accessed from Pinnacle Track (when seasonally open), Jerusalem Creek Track, and Simms Track only.
    • By vehicle, the shortest way back to the bitumen from this location is via the Simms Track connector to Eildon Jamieson Road.
    Why?
    This is to protect O'Toole Creek from damage by vehicles fording the creek, as the bridge over O'Toole Creek has failed. O'Toole Creek flows directly into White Creek which is home to the critically endangered Spotted Tree Frog. Spotted Tree Frogs are threatened by loss of vegetation on creek banks, and by sediment in waterways.
    When will it be re-opened?
    Gap Track, between Pinnacle Track and O’Toole Creek, will be re-opened when a bridge or protected creek crossing are installed. There is no timeframe for this replacement.
    What about O’Toole Flat Camping Area
    This small camping area has been re-opened. It is accessible by vehicle from Eildon Jamieson Road only, and is designed for self-sufficient visitors. It is recommended for 4WDs with small camping set-ups; long vehicles and towing vehicles are not recommended.

    O'Toole Flat Camping Area - Fireplaces temporarily removed

    We are currently reviewing the safety of multiple fireplaces following recent incidents. As a precaution, fireplaces at this site have been temporarily removed to enable the camping area to re-open. Until fireplaces are replaced, you must not light any solid-fuel fires at this site. Please use gas and electric stoves only.

    We appreciate your cooperation in keeping Lake Eildon National Park, and all our visitors, safe.

    Lake Eildon camping facility updates

    Parks Victoria has finished updating visitor facilities at Lake Eildon National Park on Taungurung Country.

    Showers, water and flushing toilets are no longer available at Candlebark, Lakeside or Devil Cove.

    The new toilets are an environmentally sustainable and cost-effective long-term solution. Each new toilet block features a state-of-the-art dry-vault system.

    Updates include:

    • 3 new non-flushing toilet blocks at Lakeside, Candlebark and Devil Cove campgrounds 
    • a new non-flushing toilet block at the Herb Fitzroy Day Visitor Area main boat ramp 
    • an education shelter at Candlebark Campground

    Temporary Track Closures due to Inundation, Lower Goulburn National Park 12-08-2026

    Due to localised Flooding on the Goulburn River and tributaries, some vehicle tracks are temporarily closed within the Lower Goulburn National Park including:
     
    ·       Mceniff Tk, Blackney Tk, Steeps Tk, Thompson Tk, Centre Tk, Trotter Tk, Coomboona Tk, Dead Man Tk, Southern Tk, Carson Tk, Withers Tk & all camping access tracks.
    ·       Cooma Tk, Middle Tk, Milne Tk & all camping access tracks.
    ·       Reedy Swamp Tk & all camping access tracks.
    ·       Grant Tk, McCrackens Tk, McCelland Tk & all camping access tracks.

  • Maldon Historic Reserve

    Parkins Reef Walk closed

    The Parkin's Reef Walking Track at the North British Mine site is closed until further notice. 

  • Mount Alexander Regional Park

    Fire-affected park - safety message

    Mount Alexander Regional Park will re-open for visitors from Thursday 2 April 2026.
     
    Leanganook Campground and the Liyanganyuk Gathering Place were not affected by the bushfire of January 2026 and are ready to welcome campers and picnickers. Joseph Young Drive and the TV antenna access road near Langs Lookout are open. Please drive with care.
     
    However, most of the park was badly burned (see brown shaded area on attached map), and all walking tracks remain closed. For your own safety, do not enter burned areas. Whole trees and branches may fall at any time.

  • Mount Buffalo National Park

    Seasonal Road Closure - Reservoir Road, Mt Buffalo NP

    Reservoir Road is subject to seasonal road closure from the Thursday after the Kings Birthday long weekend to the Thursday before the Melbourne Cup long weekend inclusive.

    Lake Catani Road Seasonal Closure

    Lake Catani Road is subject to seasonal closure from the Thursday after the Kings Birthday long weekend to September 15 inclusive.
    Lake Catani campground is open for walk-in camping only, no bookings required.

    Horn Road Seasonal Closure

    The Horn Road is subject to seasonal road closure from the Thursday after the Kings Birthday long weekend to September 15th inclusive.

    Murray River Adventure Trail

    Stage One of the Murray River Adventure Trail proposes new canoe and kayak launches, pedestrian links and new facilities at key visitor sites from Barmah National Park to Koondrook.   • Shepparton Regional Park

    Temporary Track Closures due to Inundation, Shepparton Regional Park - 11/08/2026

    Due to localised Flooding anticipated to rise quickly on the Goulburn River and tributaries, all vehicle tracks are temporarily closed within Shepparton Regional Park.
      
    Take care and monitor the situation
    • Additional areas may be closed or become inaccessible at any time.
    • We encourage community members to take extra care around rivers, creeks and lakes as water levels may rise quickly and without warning. We encourage those travelling to new or unfamiliar areas to exercise additional caution.
    • If camping, never camp under trees or branches and avoid camping on low-lying land near creeks, rivers, streams and other waterways.
    • If conditions outside appear dangerous over the coming days, please stay inside. If you are driving and conditions deteriorate, safely pull over away from drains, trees, low-lying areas and floodwater.
    • Stay up-to-date with any warnings issued by downloading the VicEmergency app and establishing a personal watch zone for your local area or the area you are travelling to. Updated forecasts are also available on the Bureau of Meteorology website at bom.gov.au.
    • Local flood guides are also available at ses.vic.gov.au to aid preparation.

  • Warby-Ovens National Park

    Areas temporarily closed due to inundation

    Due to inundation, the following tracks within the Warby Ovens National Park are temporarily closed. 
     
    Hills Track, Wilsons Track, Boundary track, Frosts Crossing Track, Ovens Track, Nicklaus Track, Yellow Creek Track, Cameron's Track, South Track, McLaughlin's Track, Robinsons Bend Track and McQuade's Bend Track. Parks Victoria will monitor river heights & track conditions and reopen tracks once it is safe to do so.
     
    Floodwater is impacting access tracks, making them impassable to all vehicle types. 
    Stay informed - monitor your local conditions and remain alert.
    • Parks Victoria has closed some park access gates due to the rising river levels. These closures are in place for your safety.
    • Do not drive through floodwater or around road closure signs.
    • Avoid walking through flooded areas.
    • Boating in floodwaters is dangerous due to debris, submerged trees and other hidden dangers. 
    • Stay up-to-date with any warnings issued by downloading the VicEmergency app and establishing a personal watch zone for your local area or the area you are travelling to. Updated forecasts are also available on the Bureau of Meteorology website at bom.gov.au.

  • Wattle Park

    Wattle Park BBQs out of order

    The BBQs in the picnic/playground area are out of order. We expect them to out of order until at least winter is over. During this period park users will not be able to use the BBQs in the park.

  • Yarrawonga Regional Park

    Areas closed due to inundation - Yarrawonga through to Cobram (Yarrawonga Regional Park, River Murray Reserve)

    Areas temporarily closed due to inundation

    Due to recent high rainfall, gullies and tracks into beaches and camping areas between Yarrawonga and Cobram have been inundated. Over the coming days, releases through Yarrawonga Weir will increase as water moves down from the catchments. The following areas between Yarrawonga and Cobram are temporarily closed:
    ·      Yarrawonga Common
    ·      Chinaman’s Bend
    ·      Forges Beach 1 & 2
    ·      Bruces Beach 1 & 2
    ·      Zinettis 1 & 2
    ·      Nevins Beach
    ·      Duffys Beach
    ·      Bourkes Beach 1, 2 & 3
    ·      Cobrawonga Island
    ·      Scott’s Beach
