Bishops Rock Day Visitor Area (Discovery Bay Coastal Park)

The Bishops Rock Day Visitor Area is located within Discovery Bay Coastal Park at Bishops Rock Track, which is located approximately 13km west of Portland via Bridgewater Rd.

See expansive views of the coastline and observe passing whales during the cooler months.

There is a hang gliding and paragliding launch pad accessible via the 25m limestone path west of the car park. Users are encouraged to be members of the Victorian Hang Gliding and Para Gliding Association: www.vhpa.org.au.

The Great South West Walk is accessible in both directions from the Bishops Rock car park. The car park can fit up to six cars and is not suited to long vehicles or trailers.

There is no direct beach access from Bishops Rock Day Visitor Area. The closest beach access carpark is located at Cape Bridgewater, 4km west of Bishops Rock Track.

Pedestrian access is via either the Great South West Walk, or vehicle access is via Cape Bridgewater Road.

There are no toilets, barbeques or picnic tables here.

There is no pedestrian access to the cliff tops adjacent to the car park or adjacent to the launch site as this area is being rehabilitated.

Visitors are reminded to remain on existing paths to avoid damaging the coastal cliffs and vegetation.
