Murray River Reserve Flood Closures - Upstream of Lake Hume

The following Murray River Reserve visitor sites upstream of Lake Hume are currently closed due to flooding.
- Lighthouse Crossing
- Neils Bend
- Pebble Beach
and Clarke Lagoon Wildlife Reserve.

Parts of Burrowye Bend and Gadds Bend are also closed to vehicles.

These sites will be monitored and re-opened as soon as access tracks and campsites have had a chance to dry out.

Japanese encephalitis in northern Victoria
Japanese encephalitis (JE) has recently been detected in Victoria, with increased risk in the northern and north-west of Victoria and along the Murray River. This virus is spread to humans through mosquito bites and may cause a rare and potentially life-threatening infection of the brain.
