Sorrento Pier Maintenance Project

Project status 

November 2022: Complete.

 

The project

The project consisted of minor repairs to maintain Sorrento Pier. During these works, one pile was repaired, and a timber beam replaced on the pier head. On the lower landing works delivered new steel ladders, new fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) safety mesh and new timber fenders with rubber cushioning. These maintenance works addressed issues which threaten the pier’s structural integrity. Repairs like these ensure this much-loved maritime asset remains safe and open for the community to enjoy and a more resilient and safer structure for local commercial operators to benefit from.

 

Project partner and funding

This project was funded by the Victorian Government as part of ongoing maritime asset maintenance and repairs.
