Parks Victoria has an important role in caring for Country. We champion the importance of nature by managing, protecting and sharing Victoria’s precious places. By putting nature first today, we have a vision for tomorrow. Into nature. We live it, breathe it and want to protect it. We help connect people with Country. We want them to understand our cultural heritage and its relationship with nature.

Victoria has a unique and diverse natural landscape. From the drama of Victoria’s coastline and beaches to spectacular Mountain Peaks. Our Tall Forests are lush and dense with Sassafras, ferns and towering Mountain Ash. Our Rugged Bushlands, vast plains and Mallee country are untamed and iconic. Teaming with life and activity, our Bays, Lakes & Rivers connect people with nature on the water. And our Urban Parks bring open, green space to the city’s doorstep for fitness, recreation and relaxation.

But there’s more to these places than their natural beauty. Conservation is at the heart of what we do. Through evidence-based research we protect precious ecosystems for future generations to enjoy. Managing Country Together is how we partner with our Traditional Owners, protect Aboriginal cultural heritage, and improve Aboriginal health and well-being. We keep people safe at adventurous, thrilling and unpredictable places by Putting Safety First. Nature plays an essential role in human health and well being and we originated the global movement of Healthy Parks Healthy People that recognises the important relationship between people and our natural environment. We educate people by Sharing Nature's Stories so they can truly respect and love our precious places. And through the continued investment of time and resources, we are Supporting Nature’s Future, to guarantee nature will be in our lives for generations to come.
