Located in a tranquil corner of Tidal River, Wilsons Promontory National Park, these glamping-style Wilderness Retreats are designed to get you closer to nature.

Sleeping up to three people, with a luxurious queen bed plus a single trundle bed, the retreats have timber floors, a covered timber decks with chairs and tables, a fridge and ensuite. Linen and towels are provided.

There's a fully equipped communal kitchen with a gas cook top, microwave oven, fridge, and cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There's also an outdoor barbeque area. These are perfect places to prepare your favourite meal and relax after a day of wilderness adventures.

Earth Friendly

Great care has been taken to ensure your Wilderness Retreat stay has minimal environmental impact. External colours have been specially selected to complement the colours of the landscapes and revegetation includes the replanting of more than 1700 indigenous plants.

Furniture has been made by a Gippsland furniture maker from locally and sustainably grown hardwood. The Wilderness Retreats are Advanced Ecotourism Certified, having met global standards for environmental sustainability.

Day walks at the Prom

There are many walks around the Prom. The walks provide a perfect opportunities to view native wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, emus and wombats as well as some spectacular views.

Squeaky Beach

Tidal River Visitor Centre

The visitor centre at Tidal River provides information about walking tracks and things to do within the park. The centre is open daily from 9.00am - 4.00pm.

  • Notices Affecting Multiple Sites

    Stockyard Campground & Toilet Block Closed

    Stockyard campground and toilet block are closed until further notice.

  • Wilsons Promontory National Park

    Sealers Cove boardwalk is closed

    The Sealers Cove boardwalk needs to be rebuilt, following major storm and flood damage. 

    This will be a major and complex project. It will replace two kilometres of boardwalk over sensitive terrain while sensitively managing the surrounding environment.

    There is currently no public access to the boardwalk, and access to Sealers Cove is only possible via a 25km hike from Telegraph Saddle.

    Park Closure - Sunday 4th August, 5pm to Friday 9th August, 8am 2024

    Wilsons Promontory National Park will be closed between 5pm Sunday 4th August and 8am Friday 9th August 2024 to undertake park management and conservation programs. 

    Wilsons Promontory National Park - Invasive Species Control Programs

    Introduced species such as deer, rabbits, foxes and feral cats are all major threats to nature. Wilsons Promontory National Park is working towards pest free nature.

    Targeted invasive species control programs will be in place within Wilsons Promontory National Park between June 2023 - June 2025.
