Jog, cycle or walk with your dog around Albert Park Lake - just 3km from the centre of Melbourne. And when you stop to catch your breath, take a moment to enjoy the magnificent views of the city skyline.

Albert Park is home to a plethora of events, from fun runs to cycling events, pet-friendly meetups and the iconic Australian Grand Prix.

Set out on the Albert Park Lake Path and stop at the southern-end of Albert Park Lake to admire the views back towards Melbourne. Swim, dive or try out the indoor sports facilities and fitness gym at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Sign up for some sailing or rowing lessons, hire a boat or if you are a seasoned sailor or rower, join in on the weekly races and meets.

And with both off and on-lead areas, come and enjoy Albert Park with your four-legged pooch. Nine picturesque picnic areas dotted around Albert Park Lake are perfect for an outing with family and friends.

As rivers, lakes and reservoirs are natural environments, you may encounter hazards. Follow our water safety advice to make sure your day out at Albert Park is a safe and enjoyable one.

Albert Park has nine picnic areas around the picturesque lake, which can be used for picnics and barbecues. Each area has a range of facilities including free electric barbecues, playgrounds, shelters and wide open spaces.

The Albert Park Golf Course is situated in the picturesque Albert Park, just 2km from the Melbourne CBD, and adjacent to the famous St Kilda Road Boulevard.

Join the Lord Somers Camp and Power House community volunteering programs, learn to row through rowing partner programs or hire the community hall for private events.

    Multiple temporary drinking fountain closures

    The drinking fountains at the following locations are closed until further notice:

    Parking at Albert Park - Parking Fees

    There will be a CPI price increase to parking fees on 1st July 2024. Each financial year the treasurer, Department of Treasury and Finance sets the CPI increase applicable to fees and charges from 1st July each year.
    The new parking fees from 1st July 2024 are:
    • Weekday hourly rate: $6.00 per hour (previously $5.80 per hour)
    • Weekdays 5pm to 9pm flat rate: $6.00 (previously $5.80)
    • Weekday maximum all day rate: $14.30 per day (previously $13.90 per day)
    • Weekends flat rate fee: $6.00 per day (previously $5.80 per day)
    Parking permits will continue to be available for park businesses and members of Albert Park tenant clubs. New permit fees will commence on 1st July 2024:
    • Sports Club Permit – 6 months: $37.90 (previously $36.90)
    • Sports Club Permit – 12 months: $75.70 (previously $73.70)
    • Junior Sports Club Permit – 12 months: $18.80 (previously $18.30)
    • Tenant permit – 3 months: $235.60 (previously $229.40)
    • Tradespersons permit – 7 days: $27.60 (previously $26.80)
    The net revenue from parking fees will continue to be reinvested back into Albert Park Reserve services and facilities and the sports and recreation club grant program.

  • Cormorant Picnic Area (Albert Park Lake)

    Cormorant toilet block is temporarily closed

    Cormorant toilet block is out of order and closed temporarily. Closest public toilets can be used at Cox McKenzie pavilion and at Community Playground precinct.

    Attached is the 'What's On' flyer for events occurring at Albert Park Reserve during July 2024.  This includes State Sport Centres weekend events at Lakeside Stadium and Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, where 1,000+ participants will attend.
