Pangarang Walking Track (Warby-Ovens National Park)

This easy walk to Pangarang Lookout offers panoramic views to the west over farmland and floodplain.

The 4.5km return walk begins from the carpark on Ferris Road and follows the Management Vehicles Only track to the lookout.

The Grade 3 formed track has a gentle slope with some low obstacles, becoming moderately steep towards the end. Return the same way. Allow 2 hours. Bike riding is permitted on this track.

Visitor Tips: wear sturdy footwear and carry plenty of water, especially in hot weather.

Partial Park Closure Due to Flooding

Due to localised flooding on the Ovens River, the following tracks are temporarily closed within the Warby-Ovens National Park: 

Hills Track, Wilsons Track, Boundary Track, Frosts Crossing Track, Ovens Track, Nicklaus Track, Yellow Creek Track, Robinsons Bend Track, Mcquades Bend Track, Mclaughlins Track, Camerons Track and South Track. 

Alternative Ovens River campsites can be found nearby at Parolas Bend and Naughtins Bend. Tracks remain wet in areas. Please drive with caution. 

Puzzle Bend Bridge Closure

The Puzzle Bend bridge within Warby-Ovens National Park is now closed to all traffic, including pedestrians, for safety reasons. This bridge has been closed to vehicle traffic for several years. 

Alternative camping spots on the Ovens River, in the Warby-Ovens National Park, can be found nearby at Camerons, Robinsons, Mcquades and Lavis Bends. 

Seasonal road closures 2021

Some roads in this park are subject to seasonal road closures. Seasonal road closures generally operate after the long weekend in June through to the end of October, but may be extended due to seasonal conditions. Visit the seasonal road closures page for maps and more information.
